Fascinated By Law Enforcement? Apply Now For the Davis PD Citizen Police Academy

The Davis Police Department is accepting applications for participation in its free 2017 Citizen Police Academy.

DAVIS, CA -- The Davis Police Department is accepting applications for participation in its free 2017 Citizen Police Academy, which takes place one night a week from late March through late April.

The Citizen Police Academy gives citizens or those interested in law enforcement an opportunity to become familiar with the inner workings of the Davis Police Department.

Courses are taught by law enforcement professionals and include subjects ranging from laws of arrest, search and seizure, dispatch, investigations, crime analysis, crime prevention, code enforcement and more.

For those interested in becoming a Volunteer In Police Service (VIPS), this class is a prerequisite.

Classes will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evenings, March 22 through April 26 at the Davis Police Department Community Room, 2600 5th Street, Davis.
