Get to the Park Early; Space Will be Limited

Festivities start at 3 pm; fireworks start at 9:30.

Don’t wait until the fireworks start to plop down at Community Park on Monday. If you wait too long, you may end up standing on the sidelines, squinting at the fireworks through the swaying branches of a view-blocking tree.

Food and game booths will open at 3pm and will remain that way all evening, until the fireworks start around 9:30. Adults are allowed to bring alcohol, so long as they drink responsibly. Pack up a blanket and go stake out a spot. Here’s the entertainment schedule for the day:

  • 4-4:40 pm           Gabe Lewin
  • 4:45-4:40 pm      Uncle Tony
  • 5:30-6:10 pm      Davis Wakamatsu Taiko Dan
  • 6:25-6:55 pm      Kimberly Trip
  • 7-7:35 pm           Skydance Skydiving
  • 7:35-8:20 pm      Western Lights
  • 8:25-9:05 pm      The Nickel Slots
  • 9:05-9:15 pm      Parks Presentation
  • 9:20-9:25 pm      Mayor’s Speech
  • 9:25-9:30 pm      National Anthem
  • 9:30 pm              FIREWORKS!

The City announced on their website that the lawn seating and entertainment stage have been modified so that the fallout from the fireworks does not affect the new track at the high school. As a result, the grass seating area west of the bike bath will be smaller than normal, so get there early. The stage will be on the northwest corner of the park’s main soccer field. The parking lot on Covell will be closed so as to accommodate staff and entertainment.
