Police Catch Man Masturbating (Again) at Common Grounds Coffee

UPDATE: Police Statement: "The Davis Police Department confirmed that Vladmir Vecherkovskiy was the same suspect from the August 13^th incident at Common Ground Coffee. The Davis Police Department is releasing a photo of Vecherkovskiy in an attempt to locate other victims in Davis or other surrounding jurisdictions."

ORIGINAL STORY: In mid-August, we ran a story about a man who was photographed exposing himself at Common Grounds Coffee Shop in south Davis. A woman snapped a photo of the man and called police, but the suspect was gone by the time they arrived, police said. 

On Sunday, a man named Vladmir Vecherkovskiy, 43, of Sacramento was arrested in a very similar incident at the same coffee shop, police say. 

It started when Common Grounds staff called police reporting a man who fit the description from the August indecent exposure. When police arrived this time, they say the suspect was found masturbating inside the business. 

“We haven’t connected this to the other case,” said Davis Police Lt. Paul Doroshov. “[Common Grounds] called because they believed he matched the description from the August incident.”

"Investigators are working to determine if Vecherkovskiy is the same subject from the August 13^th incident." according to a Davis Police Department statement. "In addition, investigators are working with surrounding police agencies to determine if Vecherkovskiy has committed this type of act in other jurisdictions."
