Police Name Suspect in Armed Motel 6 Robbery

The Davis Police Department says the man is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Police have identified a suspect in the armed robbery of a Davis Motel 6 last month.

After several weeks of investigation, detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for 30-year-old Cameron Jaclecus Shepherd, who is from Oakland. He is described as 6-foot-2-inches tall and weighing about 220 pounds. 

“He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached,” said Lt. Paul Doroshov in a release. “If you have any information … please contact the .”

On June 6, two African-American male suspects walked into the office of the Motel 6 on Chiles Road, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. Nobody was hurt, but the suspects got away with an undisclosed sum. 

The first suspect was described as approximately 6-feet tall, average build, with short, dark hair and a maroon windbreaker. The second suspect was approximately 5-feet-6-inches, thin build, wearing a light blue shirt and a black rag over his hair.
