Sacramento Veteran Who Died in Crash Featured on Organ Donor Video Series

SAN RAMON, CA- A San Ramon based organ donation program has launched a heartwarming video series that depicts the transplant experience from the perspective of the recipient and the donor's family.

In a new partnership with San Ramon Regional Medical Group (SRRMG), the Donor Network West launched their new series in Pleasanton called Dear Donor. The first in the series documents the journey of a now five-year-old boy from Antioch who received a new kidney and liver from a 22-year-old veteran who passed away in Sacramento in 2013.

This Dear Donor video documents the bond that developed between a mourning family and a healing young boy, and how they were able to support each other throughout the miraculous journey.

Donor Network West manages organ donation coordination for upwards of 175 hospitals from Nevada to San Luis Obispo, and the new partnership with SRRMC donors will allow patients to be brought to San Ramon where the transfer can be performed without other hospital and transport complications.
