South Davis: Suspect Ran After Car Crash, Prompting Helicopter Search

The suspect was taken into custody.

 

A passenger fled the scene of a car crash Sunday night in south Davis, prompting a helicopter search, according to the Davis Police Department. The suspect was later taken into custody. 

"CHP is looking for a male subject who ran after a car crash in the area of Mace Bl." wrote the Davis Police Department on Twitter Sunday evening.

We reached out to Davis PD Sunday night. They told us the search was being conducted by the California Highway Patrol. 

"Unfortunately you will need to contact them for the details," said Lt. Glenn Glasgow in an email. "We just assisted." Davis Patch didn't immediately hear back from the CHP, but Glasgow added that "there is no community threat."

Around 9 p.m., the department tweeted: "Suspect has been taken into custody. Search concluded."
