Today in Davis: UC Davis Store Grand Opening + Fiddles, Guitars & Mandolins

The action starts early in Davis today, and the subsequent melodies will linger in the air from downtown all the way to the deep green of the Arboretum.

The will have its formal grand opening at its downtown location on the corner of 2^nd and F Streets. It has been open for about a week, but will be formally trumpeted in (literally) by the Aggie Marching Band-uh! at 11:35 am today. That will be followed by a ribbon-cutting and a series of blue-and-gold-laden giveaways that could send you home with some Aggie swag.

If you’re not into giveaways and would rather cut out early and listen to some heavily improvised folk music, march over to the at the and peacefully take in the sounds of some local musicians as they jam away their lunch breaks at the Folk Music Jam Session from 12-1 pm. Or participate!

Holiday: It’s Video Games Day. Feel free to go swimming instead, though.
