Today in Davis: Water Rates & Travel Photo Exhibit
Council meeting or photography exhibit? Either choice will make you a better person.

With the budget approved, it’s time for the council to move on to other business. They’ll do just that at tonight’s meeting.
They are scheduled to discuss another hot-button issue: Water rates.
Staff is recommending that the City send out a supplemental Proposition 218 Notice protest mailer. Water rates are slated to triple, which would have a serious affect on many people’s finances. Some argue that the community has not been given ample opportunity to protest the rate increase.

It’ll cost the city $4,000 if they stuff the notice in the August utility bill or $9,000 for a special postcard mailer. Check out the protest mailer that was sent out in San Diego to see what yours might look like.

Holiday: Today is Work-a-holic’s Day. I’m not sure why that holiday follows a three-day weekend. I guess only the die-hard professionals live up to this one.
