Upcoming Adult Special Interest Classes

The City of Davis is offering the following exciting Adult Special Interest class opportunities in 
September. This is your chance to learn a new skill, meet some great people, and have fun!
Doggy Etiquette 101
Join instructor Melissa Morris for a fast-paced, six-week, hands-on course, where you and your 
dog will have fun together while learning the tools to turn him into the well behaved family 
pet you’ve always dreamed him to be! Using positive methods, your dog will learn to look to 
you for guidance, say please by sitting for everything he wants, politely greet people, and much 
more! All dogs 8 weeks and older are welcome. All dogs must be vaccinated. $30 materials fee 
is payable to instructor on the first day of class (includes book and DVD).

Golf – Beginner & Intermediate
Wildhorse Gold Course is partnering with the City of Davis to offer an adult golfing class 
designed for beginner and intermediate level golfers. Staff instructors have developed a unique 
and enjoyable program to teach you the fundamentals of the swing, the short game, putting, rules 
and on-course etiquette. If you have been considering learning how to play golf, or you simply 
want to play better and have more fun, don’t miss this opportunity!  There is a $25 materials fee 
payable to the instructor on the first day of class to cover balls, equipment and cart rentals.

CITY OF DAVIS
First Aid
This American Red Cross course trains lay responders to recognize and care for a variety of first 
aid emergencies, such as burns, cuts and scrapes; sudden illnesses; head, neck and back injuries; 
and heat and cold emergencies. In order to receive certifications, participants must attend and 
participate in all skills practice and assessment; demonstrate competency in all required skills; 
and correctly answer at least 80 percent of the questions on the written exams. Upon successful
completion of course requirements, participants will receive the Standard First Aid Certification 
(valid for 2 years).

Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED 
This American Red Cross course trains lay responders to recognize and care for life-threatening 
respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults, infants, and children. Upon successful completion 
of course requirements, participants will receive certifications in CPR/AED– Adult & Child and 
CPR – Infant (valid for 2 years).
