UPDATE: Da Vinci Student's Stolen Car Found

UPDATE:Ā We received a message from the stolen car's owner, Tal Medovoy,Ā that his vehicleĀ has been found, although the identity of the driver is still unknown.Ā

"My friend Graham Garzon found my car about two hours ago and it is now officially home safe ...Ā Officer Micheal Yu took a fingerprint from the rear view mirror but it was only a partial so it may not even recognize it in the system. [The driver]Ā has the keys so for now I will be carrying my steering wheel around with me so that if he comes back he wont be able to drive off with it."Ā

Medovoy's backpack is still missing, however.Ā

ORIGINAL STORY:Ā Davis Patch received this note Monday morning from the parent of a Da Vinci High School student:Ā "My son’s car was very brazenly stolen this morning from in front of DaVinci High, while he was standing in this street right by it!Ā  Black Honda Civic Del Sol, 1993, with peeling paint ... Anyone who sees it can call the Davis Police, or me atĀ 530-219-3546. Thank you."Ā

The keys were in the car at the time, according to the student's mom. "There had been a fender bender and he got out of the car to talk."Ā

Description:Ā The car may or may not have the top on. (He might have taken it off, the student said).Ā It has an Occidental College sticker on the back window, but that window might be rolled down. There is damage to the front end, due to the fender bender right before it was stolen. The car has a loud after-market exhaust and a peeling clear coat.
