Vehicle Struck by Train in East Davis; Driver Found Drunk Near the Scene
Officers located 24-year-old Angel Moreno walking near the accident on County Road 32 A.

Patch has learned that a Union Pacific train struck a disabled vehicle on the tracks near County Roads 105 and 32A around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.
California Highway Patrol officers and Davis Police Department personnel responded to the scene, according to CHP. When they got there, they found that the car was empty, so they began searching for the driver.
"[We] located Angel Moreno, a 24-year-old male from Sacramento walking on CR-32A," according to a CHP release. "Moreno was contacted just west of the traffic collision scene and was intoxicated. An investigation of the traffic collision scene placed Moreno as the driver of the Nissan, just prior to the traffic collision with the train."

The CHP release continues:
Officers conducted a DUI evaluation and determined that Moreno had been driving while intoxicated prior to the Nissan becoming disabled on the train tracks. He was subsequently arrested for DUI. Further investigation revealed that Moreno was on felony parole and had been driving while holding a suspended status on his California driving privileges. Moreno was booked into the Yolo County Jail for DUI charges and placed on a parole hold.
