The City of Davis, Riparian Improvement Organization, and Putah Creek Council are seeking volunteers to help preserve the natural beauty and health of local waterways. OnSaturday, September 21 from 9am until 12pmĀ (noon), the community of Davis will join together in cleaning up the North and West Area Ponds, Covell Channel, and various sites along Putah Creek. Those wishing to join the local Davis cleanup efforts should meet site captains at one of the following locations:Ā
North Area Pond: meet near the parking area off of Anderson near F Street.Ā
West Area Pond: meet on Lake Boulevard near the Circle K.Ā
Covell Channel: meet on the greenbelt/ bike path at the end of Falcon Ave in North DavisĀ
Those wishing to participate along Putah Creek should contact the Putah Creek Council atĀ (530) 795-3006Ā for more details.Ā
Volunteers should wear long pants, sturdy shoes; bring reusable water bottles, work gloves, and a 5 gallon bucket if they have one. A hat and sunscreen are encouraged.Ā
Davis residents and visitors are invited to join. Come out and help preserve the beautiful waterways and wildlife habitat the City of Davis has to offer!Ā
