Police said prior to the pursuit, a Vacaville officer fired at least one shot in an encounter with the man wanted on a $45,000 warrant.

VACAVILLE, CA — A Davis man accused of leading Vacaville police on a high-speed chase Thursday was in custody after checking himself into Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa for treatment of a gunshot wound, police said.
Nolan Bell, 27, was sitting in a Kia Forte outside a home in the 700 block of Shady Glen Road where police were conducting a probation search around 1 p.m. Thursday.
A check of the license plate determined the Kia was a "felony vehicle" and the driver is wanted on a $45,000 felony warrant related to identity theft, fraud and possession of stolen property, Vacaville police Lt. Mark Donaldson said.
