Weekend Planner: Sidewalk Sale and Livestrong

Do whatever you'd like this weekend, but if you find yourself bored and feeling lethargic, consider one of these three outdoor options: 

Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 

A favorite of locals, the Downtown Davis Summer Sidewalk Sale is well into its third decade of providing sizzling deals on fabulous merchandise. With more than fifty businesses participating, this year will be a good time. Expect to find great deals on apparel, shoes, accessories, decorative arts, and more!

Saturday:

Hopefully it's part of your routine by now, but a solid health-concious move would be to stroll over to the Davis Farmer's Market.  Enjoy the awesome produce from local farmers, and feel good about yourself while you do it. Your body will thank you later. The same goes for the local economy. 

If you go: The market is open from 9 am into the afternoon at Central Park. Remember to bring your own bags!

Sunday: 

Join Livestrong at Central Park in downtown Davis for a special challenge. Choose from one of several multi-distance bike rides, including a 20-, 45-, 70- or 105-mile option and enjoy a post-event party with your fellow cyclists, family and friends following your ride.

Last year, 1,600 dedicated participants raised over $1.1 million for the fight against cancer. This generous donation will continue to help cancer survivors live life on their own terms and build and support programs and initiatives to help raise awareness of and improve the lives of the 28 million people living with cancer today.
