A couple of years ago, a Davis-themed rap song called "Davis State of Mind" went viral, quickly racking up thousands of views. That song was a localized cover of the Jay-Z song, "Empire State of Mind." The rapping was done by Alex Pacheco and the video was edited by Daniel Watts.
Above is a newer rap song about our local university. This one is an original song by UC Davis student, Sam Newton. It has been watched more than 16,000 times since it was uploaded a little over a month ago.
