'YOLO' Magazine Capitalizing on Popular Catchphrase
The tourist-focused magazine will be ready for distribution in January, 2013.

You Only Live Once, also known as YOLO, is a new fully-colored, glossy magazine coming soon to Yolo County and as one may have already guessed, it's unabashedly cashing in on the social media buzzword.
"The name capitalizes on the catchy "you only live once" motto," said YOLO editor and assistant publisher Debbie Davis. "Since the magazine is focused on the entire county, not just Davis, we were looking for a name that would reflect that and have some current "buzz" as well."
Davis explained the magazine intends to be tourist-focused, designed to showcase places to go and things to do in Yolo County. Davis, also the editor and assistant publisher of the Davis Enterprise, said the new sister-publication will have its own unique brand.

"It's being produced by a new special publications division we've established and should be ready for distribution in January," she said.
The magazine will not be distributed with The Davis Enterprise but will be available at local hotels/motels, bed-and-breakfasts, inns, Chambers of Commerce and the Yolo County Visitors Bureau.
