POMONA, CA - Pomona police used undercover police to snare a dozen men for allegedly trying to solicit prostitutes Monday along a strip of Holt Avenue that has long been a hotbed of street crime.

Members of the task force also made contact with women along the strip, one of whom was arrested on outstanding warrants.

"These types of operations serve as an opportunity for victims of human trafficking to speak with officers about the dangers of this lifestyle, and provide advocates the opportunity to relocate them to safe locations," according to a Pomona Police Department statement.
Similar operations are scheduled to take place in the near future, the sergeant said.
