Brush Fire in Diamond Bar Caused by Squirrel on a Wire

The fire scorched a quarter of an acre.

Fire officials have found the cause of a brush fire that charred a quarter of an acre Thursday morning in Diamond Bar.

A squirrel walking on a power line set off the blaze, reported the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

The squirrel's charred remains were found under the power line, the newspaper reported.

That fire started a little before 8 a.m. near Steeplechase Lane and Alamo Heights Drive. Firefighters had extinguished the blaze in around 20 minutes.

No structures were threatened and no injuries reported.
