County Recreation Registration Goes Online

Los Angeles County recreation facilities are now available for summer reservations online.

Before you surf the waves this summer, you might be surfing the Web.

The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation and the Department of Beaches and Harbors is now offering online registration for activities and county recreation facilities.

The online registration system allows visitors to book camp sites, picnic areas, meeting rooms, sports fields, and register for kayak outings.

The system first debuted in September of 2010, but County Supervisor Don Knabe reminded residents through his Facebook page Wednesday of the new system in time for making summer plans.

County Parks and Recreation Director Russ Guiney said in September that the new system would help enhance convenience of the registration and fee collection process.

“We are excited and expect to see tremendous benefits from this new online reservation system,” Guiney said.
