Diamond Bar Golf Course Temporarily Closed Until 2023

DIAMOND BAR, CA — Anyone hoping to hit the links at the Diamond Bar Golf Course will have to look elsewhere to work on their swing, as it will be closed until 2023, starting in September.

The closure is part of a series of planned improvement projects for the interchange since several holes are located along the route, officials with the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments said in a statement. The golf course will also undergo several renovations during the closure.

Improvements to the interchange include:

• Construction of a new eastbound travel lane.
• Construction of a new eastbound 60 off-ramp bypass lane to Grand Avenue meant to eliminate weaving in and out of traffic for exiting the 60 to Grand Avenue.
• Reconstruction of the Grand Avenue eastbound on- and off-ramps, including an exclusive on-ramp bridge for Grand Avenue traffic to Route 60 that cuts down on weaving movements in the eastbound direction east of Grand Avenue.
• Widening of Grand Avenue and reconstruction of a new wider bridge over Route 60.
• Construction of an eastbound Route 60 on-ramp bypass from the northbound Route 57 split.
• Reconstruction of the eastbound Route 60 Diamond Bar Boulevard on-ramp.

Improvements to the golf course include:

• Adding news sand traps
• Constructing a new maintenance facility
• Replacing the course irrigation system
• Installing three new tees at each hole

Anyone wishing to golf during the closure can do so at several nearby public golf courses that have “comparable green fees, costs and facilities,” the council of governments said.

The courses include:

• Mountain Meadows Golf Course in San Dimas
• Marshall Canyon Golf Course in La Verne
• La Mirada Gold Course in La Mirada
