Diamond Bar Man Pleads Not Guilty To Killing Mom And Brother

Eric Kwan faces double-murder charges after his mother and brother were found dead in their Diamond Bar home in late May.

DIAMOND BAR, CA — A Diamond Bar man charged with the murder of his mother and brother in May pleaded not guilty Thursday.

Eric Kwan, 29, faces double murder charges as well as allegations that he used a knife and gun, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said. He remains in custody on $4.09-million bail.

Deputies with the Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff’s Station responded to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon at the home of Loretta Ho, 55, and Edward Kwan, 23, in the 1500 block of Kiowa Crest on the night of May 21, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

Ho had been stabbed while Kwan was stabbed and shot. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Eric Kwan did not live with his mother and brother, the sheriff’s department said. He was arrested several days later without incident. A motive is not known at this time.
