Diamond Bar Posts Video Series on Living with Wildlife

The city of Diamond Bar has posted a series of videos on its website and YouTube page related to living with wild animals.

The series is called "Coexisting with Wildlife" and features interviews with Rebecca Barboza, an environmental scientist with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, according to the city's newsletter. 

Barboza offers information on mountain lion and coyote habits and gives tips on how residents can wildlife-proof their properties. 

Coyote and mountain lion sightings are fairly common areas surrounded by a good amount of open space, officials said. Last month, a mountain lion was spotted near Diamond Bar City Hall. 

Experts caution residents to keep a safe distance and not to approach the animals if spotted.  Call 9-1-1 is there is an immediate threat.  To report a wild animal that may be a danger to the community, call City Hall at 909-839-7000.
