[UPDATED] Murder Investigation Underway After Morning Shooting

A man was declared dead in the 1100 block of N. Del Sol Lane at 10:30 a.m. this morning and Sheriff's detectives are investigating the case as murder.

According to a KTLA report, neighbors near the 1100 block of N. Del Sol Lane said they believed a Thursday morning shooting to be the result of a dispute between roommates. 

Lt. Wes Sutton told Patch earlier that the victim and suspected shooter had an argument before the shooting. 

Lt. Sutton said the victim was found in the driveway at the scene, where he was pronounced dead.

A 22-year-old man has been detained for questioning after a shooting in the 1100 block of N. Del Sol Lane this morning at 10:35 a.m., according to Lt. Wes Sutton of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department.

No suspects have been identified in the incident that left one adult male dead. Sheriff's have not yet released the name of the victim because the family has not yet been notified.

Lt. Sutton said deputies found a man with a gunshot wound to the torso at the scene, where the man was pronounced dead.

Witnesses to the incident said there was an argument that preceded the shooting, according to Lt. Sutton, but further details of the argument were not known.

According to crime records at the Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff's station, this is the first murder reported in Diamond Bar since December 2007.

Resident Ron Gnagy, who lives near a block from the scene of the crime, said he was home Thursday morning but did not hear any gunfire. 

"It's usually pretty quiet around here," Gnagy said. "We typically have more problems with coyotes than people." 

Gnagy said he was surprised when he exited his home this morning to find a train of unmarked police vehicles along the curb. 

"I'd never seen so many unmarked cars," Gnagy said.

A murder was reported in the 1100 block of North Del Sol Lane in Diamond Bar this morning at 10:30 a.m., according to the Walnut Sheriff's station.

A male was found by Sheriff's deputies with a gunshot wound and was declared dead at the scene.

The Sheriff's homicide team is currently investigating the incident.
