Rep. Miller Could Lose OC Cities in Redistricting Shift
The 42nd Congressional District is likely to be split, putting Diamond Bar in the same voting district as cities like Walnut, to the west.

Voting maps released Friday morning could split Diamond Bar's current voting district for U.S. Congress and pose new challenges for incumbent Rep. Gary Miller (R-Diamond Bar).
The new boundaries — which would separate out portions of Orange County and San Bernardino County that are currently included in the Congressional district — would leave Miller with a choice for the 2012 elections of going up against Rep. Judy Chu (D-El Monte) and representing Diamond Bar, where he was formerly mayor, or choosing to run in a neighboring district.
Rep. Miller's current district would be split into three new districts by the proposal: (1) an Eastern San Gabriel Valley to Diamond Bar district, (2) a La Habra - Yorba Linda district, and (3) an Ontario district.

A Miller aide told the Los Angeles Times that his staff was still reviewing the maps and had no immediate comment.
The new maps also put Diamond Bar and Walnut in the same Congressional district. Walnut is included in the district of Rep. David Dreier (R-San Dimas), though Rep. Miller is also listed as a legislative contact at the city of Walnut's website.
