SOLANO COUNTY – The Solano Adult Drug Court partners, Superior Court, Probation Department, District Attorney’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, Health and Social Services Department and Sheriff’s Office, are pleased to announce the sixth Adult Drug Court graduation ceremony, which will occur Friday, December 9, 2011, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Fairfield Law and Justice Center in Department 2 with the Honorable Daniel J. Healy presiding.
Six participants who have successfully completed the Adult Drug Court program will be recognized for their hard work and achievements. The Adult Drug Court collaboration keeps people in treatment which is key to their success.
“Drug Court is one of the most effective community justice programs Solano County has ever produced” stated Judge Healy. “Our talented and hard working Drug Court team is consistently producing amazing results: increased sobriety, reduced recidivism and enormous savings to the taxpayer. Drug Court graduation is a recognition of this success as well as a celebration of the men and women who have courageously faced their addictions and emerged to a brighter and more productive future.”

The Solano Adult Drug Court program was established in December 2007 with funding received by a California State Comprehensive Drug Court Implementation grant. The 18-month program provides intensive treatment and supervision services to non-violent drug offenders. Participants in the program are offered a clear choice: participate in treatment instead of going to jail or state prison.
In exchange for successful completion of the treatment program, the Court may dismiss the original charge, terminate probation early or reduce a felony to a misdemeanor charge.
