Board to Review Preferred Alternative Map for Supervisorial Redistricting

SOLANO COUNTY – The Board of Supervisors will review its preferred alternative map for supervisorial redistricting at a public hearing on Tuesday, June 28 in the Board Chambers, 675 Texas St., in Fairfield.Β 

The preferred alternative map for the supervisorial redistricting is also available for viewing at www.solanocounty.com/redistricting.Β  The preferred alternative map is also available for public viewing Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Registrar of Voters on the second floor of the County Administration Center, 675 Texas St. in Fairfield.

In addition, the public can review the five draft supervisorial redistricting alternative maps that were prepared as part of the discussions leading up to the development of the preferred alternative.Β  All six maps are available on the website and at the Registrar of Voters office.

The website – www.solanocounty.com/redistricting – links the supervisorial redistricting maps to the County’s Geographical Information Systems data base.Β  Residents can drill down to street level detail as well as overlay maps to compare alternatives.

As a result of the decennial census, the County examined a variety of district boundary scenarios to ensure the supervisorial districts are as nearly equal in population as possible. The County’s population according to the 2010 Census is 413,344 and each supervisorial district target is 82,669 residents.
