Dixon Lion's Club 2010 Year in Review

The Dixon Lions Club had a very busy year giving back to our community.  The following is a recap of their efforts in 2010.

• January 30: launched their first website.
• February 17: inducted three new members.
• March 10: inducted a new member.
• April 10: members & wives worked together to put on their 31^st annual Dinner Dance Fundraiser.
• May: helped the City of Dixon recognize National Military Appreciation Month.
• June 12: donated and cooked a BBQ trip tip dinner for cancer survivors at the Dixon Relay for Life event.
• June 25: held a poker recruitment night.
• July 31: raised funds by cooking BBQ ribs & brisket at the Dixon Chillin & Grillin cook off event. 
• August 5: cooked & served dinner for the carnival celebrating the one year anniversary of the Dixon Easter Seals Lily Learning Center.
• August 28: held its 3^rd annual Poker Night Fundraiser.
• September 1: inducted two new members.
• September 15: donated & cooked hot dogs & hamburgers at the DHS Back to School Night that benefited DHS Sober Grad Night.
• September 25: donated their time to bartend for the 1930 – 1965 Dixon High School Reunion.
• October 4: donated funds to help send school children to the Tremont & Gretchen Higgins Elementary outdoor education trips.
• October 4:  donated funds to the Dixon Toys for Tots program.
• November 17: inducted two new members.
• December 1: inducted a new member.
• December: members & wives collected coats & blankets for the Dixon Coats for Kids Christmas program.
• December 30: donated their time to BBQ tri tip sandwiches at the Dixon High School Ram Jam Basketball Tournament.
