Dixon Rotary, Lions Clubs Support the C. A. Jacobs Band

Everyone is aware of the state’s budget problems. The budgets have been drastically reduced. This reduction in funds means less money for our school programs. So, Mr. Russo wrote letters to the Dixon services clubs to ask them to help with the bands expense for this year.

Well I’m please to tell you that both the Dixon Lions and Rotary clubs have made a generous donation to the . These funds are a tremendous help in meeting the bands annual expense.

The band participates in many activities through out the year. We have students that participate in North Bay Honor Band which has a school fee.

We travel to educational music festivals that have school entrance fees and we have to pay for our transportation (the buses) to get us to these deferent events through out the year. Other expenses are purchasing music, band equipment, and the biggest cost is ongoing instrument repairs.

Please support the Dixon Rotary and Lions clubs as they have generously supported our school music program this year.
