Help Solano’s Homeless Youth Get a Good Start to the School Year

FAIRFIELD – In the last three years, Solano County schools have identified over 2,000 homeless students in our community. Due to the loss of housing and financial problems, these young people may be living on the streets, in shelters, or staying temporarily with family or friends.

To assist the homeless youth of our county, the Solano County Office of Education (SCOE) has partnered with radio station KUIC-FM, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, and Travis Credit Union in support of the regional Stuff the Bus Campaign. Your donation will help stuff the bus with school supplies to benefit Solano County’s homeless children as they prepare for the coming school year.  Our youth can use the following items:

  • alarm clocks
  • backpacks for all ages (please no solid blue or red colors)
  • binders
  • binder dividers
  • calculators
  • colored pencils
  • crayons
  • erasers
  • flash cards
  • glue sticks
  • highlighters
  • lunch bags
  • note pads
  • paper
  • pencils
  • pencil pouches
  • pencil sharpeners
  • rulers
