Memorial Service Planned for Solano County Peace Officers Who Were Slain in the Line of Duty

Since 1892, 17 law enforcement officers in Solano County have lost their lives in the line of duty.  Each year we pay our respects in memory of them.  On May 10, 2011 at 12 p.m., the Solano County Retired Peace Officer’s Association with the assistance of the Solano County Sheriff’s Office, is once again hosting the Peace Officer’s Memorial observance.

The memorial service will be held at the Solano County Peace Officer’s Memorial, which is located in front of 500 Union Avenue, in Fairfield. The Vallejo Police Department Honor Guard and the Solano County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard will open and close the ceremony.

Vacaville Police Chief Richard Word and Ms. Tami McMillan, Secretary of NorCal Concerns of Police Survivors will be guest speakers.
