
Ronald L. Thomas of Dixon passed away at David Grant Medical Center on Thursday, Aug. 4, at the age of 57 following an extensive battle with cancer.
Ron is survived by his wife, Christine Thomas, of Dixon; children: Christina (Elvis) Yee, of Chico, Michelle Thomas, of Vallejo, Joshua (Rhonda) Collier, of Portland, Ore., Ben (Rachael) Collier, of Eugene, Ore., Greta (Matt) Galindo, of Dixon, Sarah Marshall, of Walnut Creek and Sam Marshall, of Sacramento; grandchildren Tristan, Emily, Alexis, Evan, Liam, Stella, Walter, Joshua and Sarah Bell. He is also survived by his brother Lynn Thomas, of Dixon, and numerous family members in England.
Ron served his country for 21 years retiring from Travis AFB in 2000 as Chief Flight Engineer and Chief Standardization Engineer with the 15th Air Force on C-5βs. During his time with the Air Force, Ron made 17 flights to the Antarctic. Following retirement, he worked for BP Solar in Fairfield, and last worked for Walgreens Distribution Center in Woodland.

Ron liked to play tennis and he loved camping since his early childhood; he always had a dog. A 10:30 a.m., graveside service will be held with full military honors on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery followed by an 11:30 a.m., memorial service at the .
