Senior Fair Planners Seek Nominees for Outstanding Seniors

Organizers of the Oct. 15 Senior Resource Fair are working on their 10^th annual event.  The day of multiple resources specific to senior citizens has become a highly anticipated and well-attended event.

The up-coming Senior Resource Fair is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the , 201 South 5^th St.  Everyone who is a senior, has a senior to care for, or wants to find out about resources for senior citizens is encouraged to mark their calendars and be sure to attend. There will be free refreshments, entertainment, information and raffles.

At this time the public is invited to nominate a special senior they know and respect in the form of an essay of no more than 500 words.  Nomination essays should include the senior’s special activities, past and present, contributions to the Community of Dixon, and any other interesting information you would like to share about your nominee.

Include your name, phone number and relationship to nominee as well as the nominee’s name and phone number.  All entries must be received by September 9.  No late entries will be considered, so please write and submit your essays on or before the deadline.  Nominations can be submitted via email, fax, US mail, or dropped off at

A team of judges will review all nominations and select those to be honored at the Senior Resource Fair on October 15, 2011.  Winners and their nominators will be notified once judging is completed.
