PROJECT DESCRIPTION
- Two-story 35,000 gross square foot Health and Social Services building to provide a one stop service center. Services include a Primary Care Clinic, Dental Clinic, Employment & Eligibility Services, Women Infants & Children Program, Mental Health Clinic, Substance Abuse, Child Welfare Services and Older & Disabled Adult Services.
- Total project cost of $19.1 million. Funded primarily from Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement funds.Β Other project revenues include $2.2 million in federal American Reinvestment and Recovery Act dollars for a dental clinic and $100,000 from the Solano Transportation Authority for an enhanced public transit stop to serve the project. These funds are dedicated to this project and cannot be used to fund other programs or services.
- Building target opening date: August 2012.
- The construction project will help stimulate the local economy, creating direct construction jobs and indirect jobs induced from a major construction project. Project to be constructed by the County under Project Labor Agreement through the Napa-Solano Building Trades Council. The project will serve as a catalyst for redevelopment in the surrounding area.
- Project will be LEEDTM (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver certified.
- The facility is named in honor of former County Supervisor and Vacaville Mayor William J. Carroll and is the first County building named in honor of an individual.
