SOLANO COUNTY, CA — The Solano County coroner's office has identified a driver who died in a collision north of Dixon Wednesday afternoon as Jose Humberto Leon Leal, 41, of Winters. Leal was driving a Ford F-150 truck west on Putah Creek Road west of Stevenson Bridge Road around 4:15 p.m. when the front of a Nissan Sentra also traveling west on Putah Creek Road collided with the left rear of the Ford, California Highway Patrol Officer David Harvey said.
The Ford went off the left shoulder of the road, collided with a tree and came to rest. Leal was pronounced dead at the scene, and a right front passenger in the Ford suffered major injuries, Harvey said.
The Nissan overturned a number of times ejecting a female passenger who was not wearing a seatbelt, Harvey said. She suffered major injuries and the Nissan's driver suffered moderate injuries, Harvey said.
