Bar Fight Suspect Turns Himself in After Seeing His Photo on Social Media

The man suspected of beating a man unconscious has turned himself in.

FAIRFIELD, CA- A man suspected of assaulting a Fairfield resident in a bar fight this month contacted Solano County sheriff's detectives after his photo was posted on Facebook, a sheriff's deputy said.

The fight happened around 1:20 a.m. March 5 at Thompson's Corner Saloon at 2147 Cordelia Road in unincorporated Solano County just outside Fairfield city limits.

The 39-year-old victim suffered a head injury and was unconscious but breathing when deputies arrived, Deputy Christine Castillo said.

He remains unconscious at an area hospital and his identity is being withheld while the investigation continues, Castillo said.

The suspect immediately contacted the Solano County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday when his photo appeared on the social media site, Castillo said.

"He reached out and said, 'That's me,'" Castillo said.

The suspect has not been arrested and his name is not being released, Castillo said.
