Celebrating The End Of Cancer Treatments For A 9-Year-Old Dixon Girl

A 9-year-old Dixon girl was treated to a very special celebration Monday night as her cancer treatments end.

DIXON - The Solano County Sheriff's Department says Monday night was extra special.

Pink Heals Solano said "There was so much going on, and so many neighbors outside cheering her on...it was awesome!"

In Facebook posts, the two agencies shared how they the chance to celebrate the end of cancer treatments for 9-year-old Hayli Thomas and her Dixon family Monday evening.

Hayli was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, or brain cancer, in MarchΒ 2015.

According to a GoFundMe page set up for Hayli, the girl went through a 55-week cancer treatment regimen that just ended. Each week, the girl had 5 days of radiation and 1 day of chemo. The hospital was in Roseville, an hour away from Dixon.

On Monday, personnel from the sheriff's department, the Dixon Police Department, the Dixon Fire Department and Pink Heals Solano all showed up to pay a visit to the remarkable girl on a warm evening.

According to Solano deputies, "The evening was all about Hayli."

Law enforcement say they gave Hayli a victory lap ride on the big pink firetruck β€œChristine.”

"The outpouring of support from her neighbors was awesome to see and we are grateful to share in moments like these with our community," said Solano deputies.

If you would like to help the family with Hayli's expenses, a GoFundMe account has been set up.

Checking at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, the fund so far has raised a little over $40,000.
