Conference Can Help Mend Marriages
A Weekend to Remember conference is a good way to put the magic back in your relationship

Special to Dixon Patch
For more than a million people including many Dixonites, the Weekend to Remember conference has been a turning point in their marriage. From engaged couples to empty nesters, it’s never too early or too late to make a marriage flourish. Whether simply looking for a deeper purpose for life together or hovering on the brink of disaster, there is a plan for hope and love presented this fall in Sacramento.
“This a terrific thing to help people in their marriage and we know many local couples over the years from Dixon who kept their marriages or healed their relationships from this,” said Debra Dingman, a church group coordinator who, with her husband, David, has promoted and attended the event for more than 10 years. “People do not know how to be married and soon after the vows there is trouble but this provides a blueprint,” she said. “We strongly encourage engaged couples to attend as well.”

For more than 30 years, Family’s Life’s WTR has offered couples an opportunity to get away, re-connect, and experience a life-changing weekend. Spending three days in a relaxed hotel setting, free from distractions of everyday life, couples learn how to communicate more effectively, resolve conflict, develop greater intimacy, and renew the excitement they first felt in their marriage.
This fall’s retreat is offered at the DoubleTree Hotel in Sacramento: December 2-4. Cost of the three-day conference (Friday evening through Sunday) is $318 per couple but there is a significant discount to $159 when coordinated through various church groups or the Dixon Dingmans.

For marriages that are on the verge of divorce, it is like six months of marriage counseling power-packed into one weekend that gives foundational tools for healing, say organizers. The conference also makes the most perfect anniversary or wedding gift and gift certificates can be purchased for later use or can be used at any conference across the United States.
For pastors, there is free admission, posters, reproducible bulletin inserts and a promotional DVD for their congregation. Please call Debra or David Dingman, local church group coordinators at (707) 678-9198 for more information or email questions to dixondingmans@hotmail.com.
