Dixon Firefighter Honored as 2015 Firefighter of the Year

Nick Warren was selected because of his dedication integrating technology with delivery of emergency services in the Dixon community.

DIXON-Β The Dixon Professional Firefighters Association - IAFF Local 4665 (DPFA) announced yesterday that they will honor Dixon Firefighter Paramedic Nick Warren as their 2015 Firefighter of the Year. His recognition will be celebrated at two upcoming events -- the Dixon Fire Department Awards Night, Saturday, March 12, and the Rotary Clubs of Solano County on Friday, March 18.

β€œIt is my honor and privilege to announce that Firefighter Paramedic Nick Warren has been selected as the Firefighter of the year for 2015,” DPFA boasted on their Facebook page Tuesday afternoon, β€œNick was nominated by his peers and was ultimately selected by the awards committee for his outstanding work and dedication to the Dixon Fire Department.”

According to their post, Warren is known as the all around go-to guy for everything technology in the organization, and he constantly looks for ways for us to integrate technology with delivery of emergency services.

Warren has been the President of DPFA for several years and has contributed in many ways to a strong labor management relationship.

β€œNick has a positive outlook on life and brings that to the department in his everyday work practices. Nick went on several out of county assignments last year,” they continued, β€œDuring the Rocky Fire Nick was called upon as a line paramedic to treat an injured firefighter. Nick took life saving measures to treat the injured firefighter who was flown out.”
