Dixon High Varsity Softball Team Improves to 4-0
With a win over West Campus Wednesday, the Dixon High Rams Varsity Softball team improved to 4-0

The Dixon High Varsity Softball team improved to 4-0 in league play on Wednesday, defeating West Campus 20-3 in Sacramento. The Rams are the only undefeated team in the Golden Empire League, sitting comfortably atop the conference.
Dixon jumped out to an early lead, scoring 4 runs in the top of the first inning, and never looked back. The offense proved potent, parlaying 19 hits and 6 walks into 20 runs in just 6 innings.

Jenna Bassler pitched the entire game, striking out 7 while allowing just 1 walk and 1 earned run.
Offensive leaders included lefty slappers Audrey Musgrove and Nicole Gomez, who had 4 hits and 2 RBI apiece. Maggie Ramirez had 3 hits. Jenna Bassler, Jaymi Boicelli, Kristina Brown, and Julia Ratterman each had 2 hits. Ratterman had the Rams’ only extra base hit of the day, a double, and Brown led the team in RBI, driving in 4 runs.

Dixon's JV Softball team is also doing well. They nearly mirrored Varsity, defeating West Campus 21-1. After a rough start to the season, the team has rallied to win its last four games, three of which were league contests.Â
Both teams play at home this Friday, April 1, taking on league opponent Mesa Verde. Games begin at 4 p.m. Admission is free.
