Dixon House Fire Displaces Family; Cat Dies, Another Missing
BREAKING: Fire officials say a dog escaped the blaze Thursday on Calmace Drive.

DIXON, CA — Four people escaped a three-alarm house fire in a single-family, single-story home in Dixon Thursday afternoon, Dixon Fire Department Division Chief Greg Lewis said. A man who lives in a home in the 300 block of Calmace Drive suffered minor to moderate burns and was taken to a hospital, and an adult female resident suffered possible smoke inhalation, Lewis said.
A cat died in the fire, a dog escaped and another cat is missing, Lewis said.
The fire in the three-bedroom Dixon home of around 1,700 square feet was reported at 3:56 p.m. and was controlled within 45 minutes, Lewis said.

Damage is estimated at around $200,000, Lewis said.
The cause and origin are under investigation.

Firefighters from UC Davis, the city of Vacaville, Winters and west Sacramento also responded to the fire.
