Dixon Photographer Captures Solar Eclipse
Take a look at this photo snapped over the skies of Dixon Sunday evening.

Anyone who was paying attention to the sun Sunday evening saw a partial eclipse of the sun.
Photographer Bil Paul, who is enjoying his retirement by taking classes at Solano College on web design and also taking a bevy of photographs, took several shots of the eclipse Sunday and the one featured here is the best shot he took, Paul said.
The peak viewing time of the eclipse fell around 6:25 p.m.

Here is what Bil had to say about the eclipse and his attempti to photograph it: "I had a lot of trouble photographing it, and I didn't do my eye any good by photographing into the sun using a digital SLR camera. I should've had a deep, deep gray filter to photograph through. All I had on hand was a polaroid filter to cut down the strength of the sunlight somewhat. Out of maybe 50-60 photos this one was the best."
