Dixon's Morse Sisters, Local Realtor Bret Wedow to Appear on 'House Hunters' Thursday
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage agent and Shannon and Jessica Morse will be the stars of Thursday night national TV telecast on HGTV
Special to Dixon Patch
For the past five years, Dixon Realtor Bret Wedow has quietly helped local buyers find that special home to call their own. But on Thursday night, the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage agent, along with two Dixon sisters, will step into the national TV spotlight when they star in a new segment of HGTV's hit series "House Hunters."
Wedow's client, Shannon Morse, along with her sister Jessica Morse, will take part in the segment entitled, "Sisters Search for a Sacramento Home." Shannon hired Wedow because she was ready to move out of her parents home and buy her first place, with Jessica renting a room from her.

With a budget of $200,000 and under, the two girls set out with Wedow to find a home in Dixon or the Curtis Park area of Sacramento that would appeal to both of the women. Shannon wanted the charm of a vintage home, circa early 1900s to 1940s. But Jessica wanted a fully upgraded and modern kitchen, according to House Hunters. The differing opinions provided a house hunting challenge, as well as opportunities for compromise.
Wedow said it was actually Shannon's idea that they submit their struggle to find the perfect home to producers of House Hunters.

"I really decided to do it for Shannon because she was such a nice client and I wanted to do whatever I could to make her happy," he recalled. "But I didn't really expect anything to come of it because the odds of getting picked for the show were so remote."
For every 60 applications, House Hunters picks just one homebuyer to feature on its show, Wedow said. Getting onto the series took a tremendous amount of preparation, documentation and even submission of a videotape by the agent. Applications must make it through several rounds of reviews and screenings before they are finally selected.
Filming of the episode in Dixon and parts of Sacramento took place over a five-day period beginning in late March – three days with the Morse sisters and Wedow viewing properties and two more days with the girls' family in Dixon.
So which home did Shannon and Jessica finally end up picking? Dixon residents, along with a national TV audience, will have to wait until Thursday night to find out. The telecast is scheduled for 10 p.m. eastern and pacific time on HGTV.
