The Offense moved up and down the field with no problems all day long. The Offensive line lead by Josh Giardino; Marcus Gelpi; Chris Tibbett; Romo; Edward Rollins; Dominic Lepenske; Luke Dahlin; Daniel Cannon and Brett Braun really made it easy for the Rams to score.
Charley Bernhardt threw a 55-yard touchdown pass to Brett Braun for his first touchdown of a very young career. The Defense played well and only gave up three touchdowns to a really talented Santa Rosa Stallion team.

“We had some real breakout games on defense this week by King Saffing, Earic Hall and Noah Clay,” said Coach Tyler. “It was really hot out here for a 9 a.m., game but we practice in this every night and it didn’t affect the players at all,” said Coach Clay.
The next game of the day saw the Jr. Pee Wee’s lose 0-12 to a very talented Santa Rosa team. The Dixon Rams Pee Wee team defeated the Santa Rosa Stallions 30 – 0, improving their record to 4-0.
The Rams set the tone early, returning the opening kickoff, a 95-yard return by Jake “The Jet” Giardino. Giardino took the kick and sped off to the right side, following his blockers weaving his way through and returning it virtually untouched.
Several key blocks by Jeremy Cristobal, Mylan Dickerson, and Spencer Webb helped to free Giardino. Spencer Webb kicked the PAT for 2 points. Webb had a perfect day, kicking all 3 of the PATs.
Giardino “The Jet” continued his onslaught on the Rams’ next possession with a pass from quarterback, Mitch Moniz, scoring on a 75-yard pass. Moniz finished 1 for 3, one touchdown and one interception.
On the Rams’ third possession Webb went off to the right side scoring on a 45-yard touchdown run.
Webb had 4 carries for a total of 76 yards. Giardino had 7 carries, rushing for 82 yards.
In total, Giardino had 3 touchdowns and total yards of 252 yards. Jesse Camarillo had 4 carries for a total of 11 yards. The Rams’ defense did an excellent job stopping the Santa Rosa Stallions, posting their first shutout of the season.
Giardino had a great day on both sides of the ball where he also recovered the ball on an onside kick. Jerick “Hammerhead” Maghoney led the way for the Rams leading in tackles with 4 solos and 5 assisted and recovering one fumble. Davonte Haywood was next recording 7 total tackles and Mylan Dickerson had 5. The Rams had a total of three fumble recoveries, the third coming in the fourth quarter by Dylan Blanton.
Blanton ended the game with two tackles also. Coach Maghoney had challenged his team, telling them that if they were to shutout a team he would buy them pizza, and the payday came the following Monday.
The PeeWees schedule does not get any easier as the next two games they will travel to Santa Rosa to face the 4-0 Redwood PAL Bears and then play the 4-0 Rohnert Park Warriors. Next up, the two undefeated Jr. Midget teams played and saw the Stallions come up with a 8-0 victory.
It was a tight game, no score until the third quarter when the Santa Rosa quarterback broke off a 20-yard run resulting in a touchdown.
A couple of missed tackles later Santa Rosa was on the score board. The Stallions won the turn over battle. The Dixon Jr. Midgets had a chance to score late in the second quarter but time ran out on them on the 2 yard line.
"That hurt us. It just felt like we never got any momentum going the whole game. You’ve got to take your hats off to Santa Rosa, they played us very well,” said Head Coach Holtemann. “The kids never gave up but we are at the tough part of our schedule and this can happen again. The Jr. Midgets just have to learn from this and get better as the season moves forward. Our goal is to be a play off ready when the time comes and we have been good at getting there for the last four or five years. We are looking forward to the challenge and hopefully an exciting finish for the kid.”
The last game of the day saw another great battle by The Ram’s Midget team but ended up losing to the Stallions 12-24.
