The Jr. Midget Bulldogs came to Dixon ready but so were the Rams. The Rams posted a 32 to 0 game, then the score board was turned off and the game went into scrimmage mode.
The defense played well and the offense executed as the Rams clinched their third play off spot three years in a row.
Head Coach Holtemann stated, "We usually go into this as a number one seed but this year the loss to Santa Rosa cost the Rams. The name of the game is to make the play-offs and then it’s a two game season. The good thing is that the first round will have to go through Dixon. Hopefully, our boys will be ready to go.”
The Midgets took to the field for the last game of the day and the Rams quickly found themselves down by 12 points, but they continued to fight. The defense held the Bulldogs to only one more touchdown in the first half and the offense was able to come back to within one touchdown.
The Rams fought hard the second half, but the Bulldogs won with a score of 24 to 16. The defense was led in tackles by Bryan Bunch, Ethan Rogers and Micah Gomez. Bryan Bunch also tackled the quarterback for a safety and two sacks late in the game to give momentum to the trailing Rams. Offense was led by Armani Jones with 170 yards, Antwan Whitley with 67 yards and Micah Gomez with 20 yards.
The Rams' Pee Wee team and Jr. Midget team will enter into the playoffs at home on Nov. 5.
