DPD Officers Participate in Special Olympics Fundraiser Kickoff

Fundraising begins for the 2017 Special Olympics Northern California (SONC) Law Enforcement Torch Run.

DIXON, CA -- Members of law enforcement agencies from throughout Northern California -- including Dixon -- gathered in Livermore on Wednesday, Jan. 25 to kick off fundraising for the 2017 Special Olympics Northern California (SONC) Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Through sports, SONC bring special education students and general education students on the same playing field, promoting acceptance and respect for all.

Local fundraising collected over a million dollars was raised for the Special Olympics in 2016.

The 2017 Law Enforcement Torch run is expected to pass through Dixon sometime in the month of June.
