Historic Blacksmith Shop and Birds of Prey Workshop, Hike at Rush Ranch
Learn about blacksmithing and enjoy a birds of prey workshop Saturday, Dec. 17
Enjoy the day at Solano Land Trust’s Rush Ranch on Saturday, Dec. 17.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., travel back in time as you enter the historic Rush Ranch Blacksmith Shop. Learn about traditional blacksmithing tools and equipment, and see the forge in the center of the ranch. Join in an interactive demonstration with a smithy, and you may even get the opportunity to make your own iron nail or other keepsake!
Then from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., join Larry Broderick’s workshop and hike about eagles, hawks, and other majestic birds of prey. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced birder, you’ll be entertained as Broderick shows over 100 photos, demonstrates wing beat patterns of different species by the way he flaps his arms, and explains why these birds do what they do. For the workshop and hike, please RSVP to Natalie at 707-432-0150 x200 (office), 415-517-2624 (cell), or volunteer@SolanoLandTrust.org.
