Juvenile Arrested For Sex Assault At Dixon High School
Police, and the school district, believe the assault on Monday was an isolated incident and there is no risk to students.

DIXON - Dixon police arrested a juvenile Tuesday on suspicion of committing a sexual assault at Dixon High School during school hours a day earlier.
Police and the Dixon Unified School District said they believe the assault on Monday was an isolated incident and there is no risk to students, police Sgt. Glenn Cooper said.
District Superintendent Brian Dolan called the incident “deeply disturbing” in a Facebook post Wednesday morning.

Dolan said people should reserve judgments about the case.
“I want to remind everyone that at the center of this incident are two of our community’s young people and their families and friends. Their lives are changed forever regardless of the outcome of the investigation and any follow-up legal proceedings that may occur,” he said.

“Please consider how you would want this situation to be discussed or commented upon if it involved a teenager that you loved and cared about and act accordingly,” Dolan said.

“I regret to be sending this message out as it contains information regarding an alleged incident that, if true, is deeply disturbing.
...we worked throughout the day yesterday with officers regarding a sexual assault allegation that was made on Monday night and followed up yesterday. I am not at liberty to elaborate on ... what is alleged to have happened, but I do wish to reiterate a few important points.
First, the police believe that the allegations reflect an isolated incident and that they made an arrest of the alleged perpetrator yesterday. Next, school staff and the police are working together to ensure that there are no additional incidents to be concerned about and that there is no danger to any other individuals on campus. Again, we believe this to be a single isolated incident. Finally, the investigation has been in progress for less than 36 hours as of this email and it will take additional time and extensive work before it is completed. No one – either inside or outside of the investigation – has any basis to make a judgment about what happened on our campus yesterday at this point in time. In this era of social media, I would ask that all three of these points are remembered and that comments are either avoided entirely or are made with them in mind.
I want to remind everyone that at the center of this incident are two of our community’s young people and their families and friends. Their lives are changed forever regardless of the outcome of the investigation and any follow-up legal proceedings that may occur. Please consider how you would want this situation to be discussed or commented upon if it involved a teenager that you loved and cared about and act accordingly.
Our work with the Dixon Police will continue as the investigation into this incident moves forward. Neither the District nor I intend to make any additional comment while that process is completed.
Thank you for your consideration.
Brian Dolan
