Probation Announces New Chief Deputy
Donna Robinson is the county's new Chief Deputy Probation Officer

Chief Probation Officer Isabelle Voit has announced the selection of Donna Robinson to fill the recently vacated Chief Deputy Probation Officer position. Her appointment is effective September 18, 2011.
“I am pleased to promote Donna into this position. Her expertise, strong collaborative relationships and commitment to excellence are valuable assets that have served the county and department well making her exceptionally prepared to assume her new duties,” said Chief Voit.
Robinson is a long-time Solano County Probation Department employee beginning her career in 1990 as a juvenile hall group counselor. She became a probation officer in 1993, working in both the adult and juvenile divisions.

She became a manager in 2006 and briefly served as the Assistant Superintendent of the Juvenile Detention Facility in the early part of 2011. She serves on the Solano County Children’s Alliance and is the department representative for the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) and Interagency Collaborative comprised of probation, child welfare services, mental health, and education.
Teaching is a passion for Robinson. Since 1994, she has worked for the Los Rios Community College District assigned to the Public Safety Center. She is an instructor for the Probation Officer Core Course and received the Instructor of Year award in 2008. She recently joined the team of Eslinger and Associates and provides training to probation officers throughout the state.

Robinson received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Davis in applied behavioral science with a focus on psychology. In addition, she holds a Master of Science degree in criminal justice administration from California State University, Sacramento. Robinson has two daughters, ages 11 and 7 who are her main source of inspiration.
