Sheriff Investigates Death of Solano County Jail Inmate
The death of an inmate at Solano County Jails sparks an investigation into the cause of his death

The Solano County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a jail inmate that occurred Sunday afternoon.
At about noon, inmate Dennis Vanbuskirk, 51, told staff at the Solano County Jail that he was having an anxiety attack, according to the sheriff's office.

At about 1 p.m., Vanbuskirk went into medical distress. He was taken to the Northbay Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The sheriff's office and the Solano County District Attorney's Office are conducting an investigation.

Vanbuskirk's body was taken to the Sacramento County Coroner's Office where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
