‘YAL-loween’ Spaghetti Dinner Planned

The Young Americans For Liberty Club at DHS is preparing for a spaghetti dinner set for Sunday, Oct. 30 at the Dixon Veterans Hall

Patriotic pumpkins? Members of the Young Americans for Liberty of will be hosting a Halloween-themed spaghetti feed fundraiser on Sunday, October 30, at the , 1305 North First Street.

Fresh green salad and French bread along with iced tea, are part of the $10 ticket deal for adults. Children under 10 are $5 and high school students with a school ID card are $8. Dinners will be served anytime between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

“We use funds each year to bring in guest speakers and stage educational events about the Constitution,” said YAL@DHS President Devon Minnema. “We are pleased to announce that our club has doubled in size and our new members are enthusiastic about having an affect on public policy, which is why we are branching out our fundraising efforts.”

There will also be a drawing for two different patriotic-themed gift baskets. Tickets for that raffle will be $1 each or six tickets for $5.

“All the spaghetti sauce will be made from locally grown produce and everything is going to be delicious. It’s going to be a very fun event,” said YAL@DHS member Jenna Strong.

Tickets are being sold in advance but will also be available at the door. They are available from any YAL member or can be delivered by calling Minnema at (530) 848-3786.
